Course Description

The Psychological Therapies and Interventions MSc/PGDip is designed for individuals seeking to develop the academic, practical, and research skills necessary to progress into professional training in fields such as clinical psychology, counselling psychology, psychotherapy, and health management. This programme offers a comprehensive exploration of psychological therapies, including trauma-informed interventions, while fostering an evidence-based approach to practice. Students can choose to study full-time over one year or part-time over two years. A key feature of the course is the opportunity to gain hands-on experience through a 100-hour supervised placement or a work-based psychological intervention project, which helps bridge the gap between theory and real-world application. Please note that this course does not lead to a professional therapy practitioner qualification. By engaging with expert practitioners and researchers, students will build a reflective mindset essential for a career in mental health and wellbeing. The institution reserves the right to adjust course content in line with changing circumstances.
