Course Description

The Assessment Only (AO) route is a fast-track programme designed for experienced graduate practitioners who are currently teaching in the UK but do not yet hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). This programme is ideal for those who can demonstrate that they already meet all the standards for QTS without the need for further training. Please note that this is not a training programme; candidates will not attend teaching sessions. Instead, the process involves a rigorous selection stage followed by an assessment period, typically lasting 12 weeks. Candidates must have the support of their current school, including a dedicated mentor. The programme is available for primary and secondary teaching across a variety of subjects. For those seeking an academic qualification alongside their QTS, there is an option to enrol on the PG Cert Teaching programme. The institution reserves the right to manage changes to courses if necessary due to external factors, ensuring academic standards are maintained throughout the assessment process.

Tuition Fee Details

The fee for the 2026/27 academic year is £2,600. This amount is typically paid by the supporting school, which may reclaim funds by negotiation with the candidate. The fee comprises a non-refundable £1,000 for the selection stage and £1,600 for the assessment stage. Fees are subject to annual review and the institution reserves the right to increase fees in line with inflation. Tuition fees may be subject to change by Middlesex University London.
