Course Description

The Professional Practice in Healthcare (Negotiated Specialism) MSc is an innovative, part-time programme designed specifically for degree-level practising nurses and midwives. This flexible course allows students to create a bespoke study pathway that aligns with their personal, professional, academic, and service development goals. The programme structure consists of 180 credits, comprising 90 credits of optional modules and 90 credits of core research modules. A 'top-up' route is also available for those who already hold 120 level 7 credits. Students benefit from an individualised planning meeting with the programme leader to determine their pathway and optional modules. The curriculum emphasises work-based learning, enabling students to apply research directly to their current healthcare environment. Tuition Fee Details

The fee is £69 per credit for the 2026/27 academic year. The university reserves the right to increase postgraduate tuition fees in line with changes to legislation, regulation and any government guidance or decisions. The tuition fees for part-time UK study are subject to annual review and the institution reserves the right to increase the fees each academic year by no more than the level of inflation.
