Course Description

This versatile master's degree focuses on the advanced study of neuroscience and understanding the brain in both health and disease. It combines cognitive and clinical approaches to neuroscience to build your understanding of human cognition and explores the underlying mechanisms associated with disease and disorders of the nervous system. This interdisciplinary course is taught by internationally recognised academics from the Psychology and Biomedical Sciences departments. Students will gain practical skills in neuroscientific data collection and analysis, experimental design, and clinical and statistical analysis of data. You will also have the opportunity to learn how to use electroencephalography (EEG) for research and clinical investigation. This degree is ideal if you are looking to extend your research interests to doctoral level or apply neuroscience in clinical and research settings. The course is available as a one-year full-time programme or a two-year part-time programme, providing flexibility to balance your studies with other commitments. Students will benefit from access to industry-standard technology and specialist laboratories at the Hendon campus.

Tuition Fee Details

Full-time UK students: £11,100. Part-time UK students: £74 per credit and £36 per dissertation credit. The university reserves the right to increase postgraduate tuition fees in line with changes to legislation, regulation and any government guidance or decisions. The tuition fees for part-time UK study are subject to annual review and the institution reserves the right to increase the fees each academic year by no more than the level of inflation.

UK qualifications

A 2:2 honours undergraduate degree or higher in psychology, neuroscience, clinical neuroscience or a related degree.

Other qualifications

Applicants must have a good honours degree (2:1) or equivalent qualification, in an appropriate subject that incorporates microbiology.
