Course Description

The Visual and Arts-based Methods MSc by Research is designed for individuals looking to advance their expertise in creative research methodologies within psychology and the social sciences. This programme offers a unique, research-focused experience that moves away from traditional lectures and exams, allowing students to build upon their own interests and networks. Whether studying full-time over one year or part-time over two years, students receive one-to-one supervision from internationally recognised researchers. The curriculum is highly flexible, with workshops and seminars tailored to each student's specific needs, previous experience, and research goals. Students will engage in an independent research project, culminating in a dissertation and a visual or arts-based output, such as a film or photographic project. By joining this thriving creative community, students gain the skills necessary to excel in both academic and professional environments, supported by a dedicated supervisor and access to a national and international collaborative research network.
