Course Description

The Foundation Year in Science is designed as an entry route to a science degree for students who may not currently meet the entry requirements for direct degree-level study or who wish to build their confidence before embarking on a three-year programme. This full-time course provides a supportive environment to develop essential academic, research, and laboratory skills. Students will study four core modules simultaneously, covering Life Sciences, Chemistry, Foundation Mathematics, and academic writing and research technology. This comprehensive approach ensures students are well-prepared for the rigours of undergraduate study. Upon successful completion of this one-year foundation programme, students will progress directly onto one of the institution's three-year degree courses, such as Biomedical Science, Medical Science, or Neuroscience. The programme is ideal for those returning to education or those looking to strengthen their scientific foundation. With experienced teaching staff and access to excellent facilities at the Hendon campus, students are supported throughout their journey to achieve their academic and professional goals.
