Course Description

This BSc Honours degree is designed for students who are passionate about supporting athletes to reach their peak performance while minimising injury risks. The programme emphasises a scientific approach to physical education and coaching, ensuring students are prepared for professional environments. Students will explore physiological, psychological, and biomechanical theories, applying them to real-world scenarios. The course is delivered through a mix of lectures, seminars, and practical workshops, with access to state-of-the-art facilities at the StoneX Stadium. Available as a three-year full-time course or a six-year part-time route, the programme includes an optional sandwich placement year, providing invaluable industry experience. Students will develop essential skills in performance analysis, coaching styles, and athlete monitoring. With a strong focus on employability, the curriculum is endorsed by the Chartered Association of Sport and Exercise Sciences (CASES), ensuring graduates are well-equipped for careers in sports coaching, teaching, fitness consultancy, and health promotion. Tuition Fee Details

For the 2026/27 academic year, the tuition fee for UK full-time students is £9,790. Part-time UK study is charged at £81 per taught credit. The university reserves the right to increase undergraduate tuition fees in line with changes to legislation, regulation and any government guidance or decisions. Tuition fees for part-time UK study are subject to annual review and the institution reserves the right to increase the fees each academic year by no more than the level of inflation. UK qualifications

UCAS: 80-96 UCAS points including 32 in Science or PE

A-level: BB-BBE including a C or above in a Science subject or PE

BTEC: MMP at BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in related field; DDD at BTEC Level 3 Diploma in related subject

Access: Overall pass in a related subject including 45 credits at level 3 at Merit or higher
