Course Description

The Football Coaching and Performance BSc is designed for driven individuals passionate about football coaching who aspire to work in elite environments. This innovative programme, delivered in partnership with Watford FC Community Sports & Education Trust, provides a multi-disciplinary approach to advanced player performance. Students will develop a well-rounded blend of knowledge and skills, combining practical coaching, underpinning theory, and work-based learning. The course is available as a 3-year full-time programme or a 6-year part-time option. Throughout the degree, students explore coaching theories from beginner to UEFA C level, performance analysis, sport science, and player welfare. A key feature of the programme is the inclusion of professional qualifications and guaranteed practical work placements, ensuring graduates are well-prepared for roles in professional football clubs, academies, and community settings. With access to state-of-the-art facilities at both the University’s Stone X Stadium and Watford FC, students gain the industry exposure and technical competencies required to excel in the competitive world of football coaching and performance.

Tuition Fee Details

For the 2026/27 academic year, the full-time tuition fee for UK students is £9,790. Part-time study is charged at £81 per taught credit. The university reserves the right to increase undergraduate tuition fees in line with changes to legislation, regulation and any government guidance or decisions. 96 UCAS points including GCSE: Grade 4/C in English & Mathematics

A-Level: CCC including a C or above in a Science subject or PE

BTEC: MMM at BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in related field; DD at BTEC Level 3 Diploma in related subject

Access requirements: Overall pass in a related subject: must include 45 credits at level 3, of which all 45 must be at Merit or higher
