Course Description

This professional doctorate programme is designed for experienced professionals working within the criminal justice and security sectors who wish to effect real change and influence public policy. As a part-time distance learning course, it offers the flexibility to balance advanced research with your existing professional commitments. You will critically examine your own practice, explore key leadership theories, and develop the qualitative and quantitative analytical skills necessary to conduct original research. The programme encourages you to investigate pressing issues such as disproportionality, social justice, and community relations, drawing on perspectives from both the global north and south. Supported by an expert teaching team with significant experience in government reports and evaluations, you will produce a 50,000-word thesis that contributes original knowledge to your field. This course is ideal for those seeking to challenge oppressive practices and drive innovation within their professional environment, ultimately enhancing the experiences of the most marginalised within society.
