Course Description

Begin a rewarding and fulfilling career in teaching with this PGCE in Secondary Modern Languages. This intensive course is designed to train you to teach 11 to 16-year-olds (Key Stages 3 and 4) and, by arrangement, 16 to 18-year-olds in a secondary school environment. The programme leads to Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and covers the principles of modern language teaching, including French, Spanish and German. You will develop pupils’ skills in speaking, reading, listening and writing while studying teaching methodology, pupil assessment and how children learn. Based in London, the course provides a unique opportunity to understand teaching in multicultural urban environments. Through two school placements, you will gain practical experience in helping pupils develop their foreign language skills effectively and fluently.
