Course Description

This research-led Product Design MA is designed for graduates from product design and related disciplines, or those wishing to collaborate with professionals in the field. Grounded in the understanding that design is a key driver for change, the course prepares you to negotiate complex, ambiguous problems and create innovative products and systems. You will explore design research methods, engage in theoretical and practical projects, and develop a sophisticated, evidence-based approach to design. The course is available as a one-year full-time programme or a two-year part-time option. Based in the creative hub of the East End, the School of Art, Architecture and Design offers a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment where you can test the premises of the field. You will be encouraged to combine experimentation with radical thinking, ensuring your work is not only functional and safe but also meaningful, engaging, and commercially relevant.
