Course Description

This distance learning course offers an in-depth exploration of human rights from international, socio-economic, and political perspectives. It is designed for both legal professionals seeking to specialise and non-legal professionals—such as charity workers, policy advisors, journalists, and those in international relations—who require a robust understanding of the human rights legal framework. Students will investigate the historical development of human rights, current issues like environmental social justice, and the legal concepts governing individual and collective rights. The programme provides the flexibility to study from anywhere in the world, primarily through independent distance learning with some online teaching activity. The full-time LLM is completed in one year, while a part-time route is available over two years. By engaging with both theoretical and practical elements, students will develop the skills, knowledge, and confidence to advocate for social justice and transform lives. The institution ensures that tutors bring a blend of academic expertise and practical legal experience to the curriculum.
