Our BA (Hons) Computer Games Art degree immerses you in the world of visual storytelling, 3D modelling and digital sculpting, with the opportunity to specialise in either Games Environment Art or Games Character and Creature Art. From the start, you’ll work in a studio-style setting that mirrors industry practice, developing collaboration, problem-solving and creative teamwork. You’ll build your technical expertise using professional tools such as Maya, ZBrush, Unreal Engine 5 and TIGA Benchmarking, while taking part in live briefs, case studies and national competitions like Search for a Star and The Rookies. These experiences prepare you to meet industry expectations with confidence and adaptability. With everything taught to TIGA benchmarking standards, you’ll graduate with a polished portfolio, real-world experience and the skills to thrive as an environment artist, character and creature artist, games artist, UI artist or games tester.
For UK home students, tuition fees are £9,790 for the Foundation Year, followed by £9,790 per year for each subsequent year of study (Years 1–3). Tuition fees are reviewed annually and may be subject to change by the institution in line with government regulations and guidance.
Foundation Year Requirements:
32 UCAS tariff points from accepted qualifications*, or
Pass at Foundation Diploma in Art & Design (Level 3 or 4), or
Merit, Pass, Pass at BTEC Extended Diploma, or
Pass at UALAB Extended Diploma, or
32 UCAS tariff points from an accredited Access to Higher Education Diploma in appropriate subject.
And 4 GCSE passes at grade A*-C and/or grade 4-9 including Functional Skills English/Key Skills Communication Level 2.
Year 1 Undergraduate Requirements:
112 UCAS tariff points from accepted qualifications*, or
Pass at Foundation Diploma in Art & Design (Level 3 or 4), or
Distinction, Merit, Merit at BTEC Extended Diploma, or
Merit at UAL Extended Diploma, or
112 UCAS tariff points from an accredited Access to Higher Education Diploma in appropriate subject.
And 4 GCSE passes at grade A*-C and/or grade 4-9 including English and Maths
Non-Standard Entry:
Applicants must have 2 years of relevant work experience and English proficiency to be able to demonstrate understanding of business analysis, effective time management and working with others.
For any non-standard entry, an interview will be required to assess an applicant’s ability to meet the Level 3 qualification criteria/ benchmark.

A Personal Statement explaining motivation and experience and an interview to assess readiness for study.
A written task to evaluate academic ability (if necessary).

Stage 1 - The first stage covers the key areas related to your degree programme and will focus on either creative design or business. You’ll learn the theoretical knowledge and debates surrounding these disciplines and the historical and international contexts which underpin them. You will also begin to build the foundations for studying at degree level.
Stage 2 - This stage builds on the key research, analytical and reflective skills built in Stage 1. You will also have the opportunity to explore specialist areas of study and focus on your chosen path within the creative arts or business.
Stage 3 - You’ll undertake a self-directed, specialist project which will synthesise and conclude your newly learned knowledge. The Final Major Project consists of three units which include advanced language and study skills needed for progression onto an LCCA design or creative business undergraduate degree.
