Course Description

The Certificate of Higher Education in Law introduces students to legal study through four Level 4 modules. It develops academic and analytical skills while providing foundational knowledge of English law. Students gain grounding in legal systems, legal skills, legal reasoning, critical reflection and analysis. The CertHE can work as a standalone qualification or a pathway into further legal study.

Tuition Fee Details

The UK home full-time tuition fee is £9,790. Fees are paid to Birkbeck, University of London. Fees may increase in line with government guidance or inflationary measures, with changes communicated in advance.

Other qualifications

Applicants applying with qualifications from outside the UK should refer to accepted country specific qualifications. Examples listed include Romania Diploma de Bacalaureat grade 8 or higher, Bulgaria Diploma za sredno obrazovanie grade 5.2 or higher, Italy Diploma di Esame di Stato grade 75 or higher, Spain Titulo de Bachiller grade 7.5 or higher, and Hungary Érettségi Bizonyítvány grade 3 or higher. The list is indicative and not exhaustive. There are no time restrictions on the date of achievement for either UK or EU/Overseas qualifications.

Alternative entry may include a 300 word Personal Learning Statement, work experience or professional development through CV and verification, other external admissions tests including English language test and interview, internal Law test, and completed APEL form/application.
