Course Description

This four-year degree programme is designed for students who wish to study sociology but may not currently meet the entry requirements for a standard undergraduate degree. The course includes an intensive foundation year (Year 0) that helps you build the academic skills, confidence, and mindset necessary for success in higher education. You will benefit from small, interactive classes, one-on-one tutorials, and a supportive community of learners. The curriculum is grounded in the Education for Social Justice Framework, ensuring that your lived experience is valued and that course content remains relevant to real-world challenges. After successfully completing the foundation year, you will progress to the three-year Sociology BSc, graduating with the same degree title as direct-entry students. This route is an excellent opportunity to explore your academic potential, develop essential critical thinking and communication skills, and prepare for a rewarding future in sociology and related fields.
