Course Description

This four-year Psychology degree is designed for students who do not meet the standard entry requirements for the three-year undergraduate course. The intensive foundation year (Year 0) provides an alternative route into higher education, equipping students with essential academic skills in research, data analysis, essay writing, and critical thinking. During this year, students will explore interdisciplinary topics and gain fundamental knowledge of scientific methods relevant to psychology. Following the successful completion of the foundation year, students progress into the three-year Psychology BSc (Hons) programme, where they join the main cohort and study the same curriculum. This course is accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS), granting eligibility for the Graduate Basis for Chartered Membership (GBC) upon graduation with a 2:2 or higher. Students benefit from a supportive learning environment, including one-to-one sessions with academic tutors and workshops to enhance study skills, ensuring they are well-prepared for future postgraduate training or professional careers.
