Course Description

This four-year degree course is the perfect start to your university studies if you are interested in a career in science but do not meet the entry requirements for a traditional three-year degree. The programme includes a built-in foundation year (Year 0) designed to provide you with the essential skills in chemistry, biochemistry, biology, and mathematics needed to succeed in your subsequent three years of study. You will benefit from learning in the institution's £30 million Science Centre, which features a state-of-the-art Superlab equipped with specialist tools used in the real working world. Throughout the course, you will be supported by expert tutors as you explore the development and testing of new drugs for conditions such as cancer and schizophrenia. The foundation year is shared with other science-related subjects, offering a collaborative environment and the flexibility to specialise in other areas if your interests evolve. This course is available for full-time study, with part-time options also provided.
