Course Description

This four-year degree is the perfect route into higher education if you want to work in the media but do not currently hold the necessary qualifications for a standard undergraduate degree. The course includes an intensive foundation year (Year 0) designed to equip you with the essential skills, digital literacy, and critical understanding required for your subsequent three years of study. You will explore the role of media in social, political, and cultural life, focusing on areas such as journalism, film, television, social media, and advertising. Taught by experienced researchers and industry professionals, the programme combines theoretical study with practical media production. You will benefit from a blended learning approach, gaining hands-on experience in studio environments while developing a professional portfolio. Upon successful completion of the foundation year, you will progress to the full BSc (Hons) degree, graduating with the same award as those on the traditional three-year route. This course is available for full-time and part-time study, providing a flexible pathway to a career in the creative industries.
