Course Description

This Forensic Science degree course is designed for students who wish to pursue a career in forensic science but may not currently meet the traditional entry requirements for an undergraduate degree. The programme features an integrated foundation year (Year 0), which provides a supportive introduction to higher education, covering fundamental scientific disciplines such as biochemistry, chemistry, and biology, alongside essential study and laboratory skills. Upon successful completion of the foundation year, students progress into the standard three-year degree, where they join students from the main programme to study advanced topics including criminalistics, molecular biology, and toxicology. The course is available for full-time study over four years, with part-time options also available. Students benefit from hands-on learning in a state-of-the-art £30 million Science Centre and gain insights from guest lectures led by industry specialists. This course is an excellent pathway for those looking to build confidence and academic foundations before specialising in forensic science.
