Course Description

This four-year full-time course is designed for students who are passionate about health and wish to become qualified dietitians. As the only health professionals qualified to assess, diagnose, and treat diet and nutrition-related problems, dietitians play a vital role in both individual patient care and wider public health. Throughout this programme, students will explore the latest scientific research on food, health, and disease, developing the practical skills needed to help the public make healthier lifestyle choices. A key feature of this course is the extensive hands-on experience gained through full-time placements in years two, three, and four. These placements take place in diverse settings, including NHS acute hospitals, private organisations, and public health sectors, ensuring students are well-prepared for the realities of contemporary practice. Upon successful completion, graduates are eligible to apply for registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and join the British Dietetic Association (BDA), marking the start of a rewarding career in nutrition and disease management.
