Course Description

This four-year degree course is designed for students who wish to pursue a career in Data Science but do not currently meet the standard entry requirements for a traditional three-year degree. The programme includes an intensive foundation year (Year 0) that provides the essential skills and knowledge required for success in the subsequent three years of study. Upon completion of the foundation year, students join the main Data Science BSc cohort, graduating with the same degree title and award as those on the standard route. Throughout the course, students gain comprehensive experience in data programming, statistical modelling, machine learning, and data visualisation. The curriculum is developed with industry interests in mind, ensuring students are trained in modern software tools such as Python, RStudio, SQL Server, and Hadoop. Available as a full-time or part-time programme, this course offers a supportive learning environment, blending theoretical knowledge with practical, real-life case scenarios to prepare students for a successful career in the data sector.
