Course Description

This Biological Science degree is designed for students who are fascinated by the study of life. Taught within a state-of-the-art Science Centre, the course explores life processes through complex interactions at molecular, cellular, and whole-organism levels. Students will develop essential hands-on laboratory skills and a deep understanding of biological systems, from molecular structures to entire ecosystems. The curriculum is structured to build a solid foundation in the first year, followed by specialisation in research techniques during the second year, and a year-long research project in the final year. This course is ideal for those looking to pursue careers in research, science technology, or medical laboratory assistance. Available as a three-year full-time programme or a four-year part-time route, the course provides a high standard of cognitive, practical, and transferable skills. Graduates are well-prepared for the professional field and are eligible to apply for membership of the Royal Society of Biology, supporting a successful transition into the biosciences sector.

Tuition Fee Details

The tuition fee for UK home students is £9,790 per year for full-time study. Part-time study is charged at £2,445 per 30-credit module. Tuition fees for subsequent years may be subject to inflationary increases by the UK government.
