Course Description

The Textiles with Foundation Year BA (Hons) degree is designed for students who wish to pursue a career in textile design but may not meet the entry requirements for a standard three-year undergraduate course. This four-year programme includes an intensive foundation year (Year 0) that allows you to explore a wide range of art and design media before specialising in textiles. During your foundation year, you will develop essential practical skills, engage in studio projects, and build a substantial portfolio. Following this, you will progress to study the same content as the traditional three-year Textiles BA (Hons) degree. The course is available for full-time study over four years, with part-time options also available. You will benefit from working with industry partners, participating in exhibitions, and receiving guidance from experienced tutors. This course provides a supportive environment to help you reach your full potential as a creative practitioner, preparing you for a successful career in the design industry or further postgraduate study.
