Course Description

This four-year degree is designed for students who are passionate about journalism, film, and television but do not currently meet the entry requirements for the standard undergraduate programme. The course features an integrated foundation year (Year 0) that provides essential study skills, including essay writing, critical analysis, and research techniques, alongside an introduction to media practices. This supportive environment helps students transition into university life and prepares them for the subsequent three years of study. After successfully completing the foundation year, students join the standard BA (Hons) Journalism, Film and Television Studies degree, graduating with the same award as their peers. The programme combines media theory with practical production, offering access to cutting-edge digital facilities. Students are encouraged to develop their own stories, produce short films, and engage in investigative reporting. With a focus on both academic success and employability, the course offers one-to-one tutor support and workshops to help students reach their full potential in the creative industries.
