Course Description

This International Relations BA (Hons) degree is designed to help you understand the complex challenges in global politics today. Taught by a team of expert academics, the course explores the relationships between states, the role of non-state actors, and how shifts in global power impact our daily lives. You will examine critical issues such as climate change, nuclear proliferation, cyber conflict, the causes of war, terrorism, social justice, human rights, and global inequalities. The course is available as a three-year full-time programme or a four-year part-time route. Students are encouraged to undertake a work placement to gain industry experience, with opportunities available at think tanks, non-governmental organisations, and embassies. By combining theoretical study with practical insights from guest practitioners and field visits to institutions like parliament and embassies, you will develop the critical thinking and analytical skills necessary for a rewarding career in international relations, government, or further research.
