Course Description

If you are passionate about international relations but do not meet the entry requirements for the standard three-year degree, this four-year course is an ideal choice. The foundation year is a multidisciplinary programme designed to build your academic confidence, critical thinking, and study techniques. You will share this year with students from other specialisms, focusing on big ideas and preparing for university life. Upon successful completion of Year 0, you will progress to the same course content as the three-year International Relations BA. The institution is committed to an Education for Social Justice Framework, ensuring inclusive teaching and real-world relevance. You will benefit from excellent academic and pastoral support, including dedicated tutors and mentors, and have access to various wellbeing and career services. This course provides a supportive environment to help you succeed, with research indicating that students who complete the foundation year often achieve higher degree classifications. You will graduate with the same award and title as those on the three-year programme.
