Course Description

The Illustration and Animation (Top-Up) BA (Hons) is designed for students who have already completed a foundation degree, Higher National Diploma, or equivalent qualification and wish to complete the final year of an undergraduate degree. This industry-focused course helps you develop your creativity and hone the professional skills required for a career in illustration and animation. You will explore image-making and visual storytelling across various platforms, including children’s books, graphic novels, and app design. The curriculum embraces modern developments, moving beyond traditional page-based illustration into dynamic, three-dimensional digital environments. You will study within the institution's unique studio system, gaining access to an unrivalled range of creative facilities, including printmaking, ceramics, woodworking, and 3D printing. The course emphasises cross-disciplinary projects, allowing you to experiment with a wide range of mediums. Whether you are creating a zine, a narrative for a start-up, or a short film, this programme provides the environment to tell stories and connect with diverse audiences. Full-time and part-time study modes are available.

Tuition Fee Details

The tuition fee for UK home students is £9,790 per year for full-time study. Part-time study is charged at £2,445 per 30 credit module. The university reserves the right to increase the tuition fees in line with changes to legislation, regulation and any government guidance or decisions.
