Course Description

The Fashion (including foundation year) BA (Hons) is an ideal alternative route into higher education for those who do not hold traditional qualifications or cannot meet the entry requirements for the standard three-year undergraduate degree. This four-year course features an intensive foundation year (Year 0) designed to prepare students for academic study at undergraduate level, equipping them with essential skills and techniques for studio and workshop environments. Students will explore creative practice within historical, conceptual, and cultural contexts while developing critical analysis and research skills. Upon successful completion of the foundation year, students progress to the three-year degree, studying alongside peers on the standard programme. The course offers a comprehensive view of the fashion industry, including design, material technology, and consultancy. Students benefit from expert tuition, real-world fashion studio experience, and networking opportunities with major brands. The course is available on a full-time basis, with part-time options also offered. Graduates emerge with the same award and title as those on the traditional three-year route.
