Course Description

This four-year degree course is designed for students who wish to develop their creative potential before progressing onto a specialist undergraduate degree. The intensive foundation year (Year 0) provides a diagnostic and preparatory environment where you can explore various art and design disciplines, helping you to establish a personal focus and direction. You will engage in a broad range of studio and workshop projects, developing essential skills in drawing, composition, and material exploration. Taught by experienced tutors, you will work alongside undergraduate students, gaining valuable insight into university life and the creative industry. Upon successful completion of the foundation year, you will progress to the three-year undergraduate degree of your choice within the School of Art, Architecture and Design. This course is available for full-time and part-time study, offering a supportive and stimulating environment to build the confidence, technical ability, and critical thinking skills required for a successful career in the creative arts.

Tuition Fee Details

The tuition fee for UK home students is £9,790 per year for full-time study. Part-time study is charged at £2,445 per 30-credit module. Tuition fees for subsequent years may be subject to inflationary increases by the UK government. The university reserves the right to increase the tuition fees in line with changes to legislation, regulation and any government guidance or decisions.
