Course Description

The Accounting and Finance with Foundation Year BA (Hons) is a four-year programme designed for students who wish to pursue a career in accountancy and finance but do not meet the standard entry requirements for a direct undergraduate degree. The foundation year (Year 0) provides a supportive, multidisciplinary environment where students hone essential academic skills, including critical thinking, research, and communication, while building confidence for higher education. Teaching is delivered in small groups, fostering a close-knit community. Upon successful completion of the foundation year, students progress to the same course content as the traditional three-year degree. The programme is highly practical, with teaching staff bringing extensive professional experience in areas such as taxation, financial reporting, and auditing. Students benefit from industry speakers and a curriculum that integrates modern tools like artificial intelligence. This course is available on a full-time basis, with part-time options also offered. Graduates emerge with a full undergraduate degree and are well-prepared for professional roles in the accounting and finance sectors.
